How to Setup Respondus 4.0
Respondus Sever Setup Tutorial
This tutorial is intended to guide for UVU staff setting up Respondus 4.0. After this Tutorial you will be able to setup Respondus to upload the quizes directly into courses hosted on Blackboard.
Step 1: Select Personality
Step 2: Tab:Preview & Publish, Side-Navigation:Publish to WebCT
Navigate to find the Publish Wizard by selecting the “Preview & Publish” tab from the top and the “Publish to WebCT” from the tabs on the left. If the “Publish to WebCT” does not appear, then make sure that the correct personality was selected in step 1.
Step 3: Add a new server

Choose “- add new server -” from the drop-down menu under section 2.
Step 4: New Server Settings
Step 5: WebCT Server Information

First of all if the image does not match what you are see then the ‘personality’ may not be st to WebCT.
Section 2: that URL is from any blackboard course you can log into. The program just takes extracts the server domain from this.
Press Extract and the field will be automatically populated. If not then make sure that section 2 has a valid URL.
Press the Institutions button and select “Utah Valley University” from the drop box.
Under Section 5, the Description is the name you will see when publishing quizzes(like in step 2). The user name and password are the same that I use to log into Blackboard.
The check box is to remember the user name and password. Check this at your own discretion.
Step 6: Select Server

Similar to Step 2, but now we have a server. In my example I named the server (in step 5 section 5). Select that server from the drop box and hit next.
Step 7: Publish Settings

Section 1 contains a drop-box that contains an option for each course the user’s(Step 5, Section 5) blackboard account. Choose the class to receive the file.
Section 2 contains a “category” that is an organizational unit with the selected course assessment area.
Section 3 is about naming the quiz and how it is applied to the course.
Step 8: Published to the Course
Step 9: Blackboard Check

In my example the quiz was named “Quiz 1″(in step 7 section 3).
Finally take the quiz to verify it was upload correctly.
